Located in the western Garo hills region, Tura hills is an eco-tourist corner of the state attracting a lot of visitors throughout the year. How to reach
The nearest airport from Tura is in Guwahati which is about 200kms away. You can hire a cab or a taxi after you reach Guwahati airport to reach Tura. You can also take bus services from Guwahati and the police Bazar of Shillong.
The nearest railway station is also at Guwahati which is connected to major cities of India and is about 225kms from Tura and takes almost 3 hours to reach by road. Private Cars, taxis, and local transport are easily available from the station.
Besides that Tura is well connected to major cities of the northeast such as Itanagar, Shillong, Agartala, Kohima, Silchar, and Guwahati. The roads are smooth and the views are breathtaking for a road trip.
Best season to visit Tura
March to June is the ideal time to go to Tura as the temperature is neither too hot nor cold. However, the winter season is not that bad in Tura. You can also visit from November to February.
