The second coldest inhibited place on earth, one of the most magical places on earth, Drass. Dras Gateway to Ladakh is a town in the Kargil district of Jammu & Kashmir. It has an elevation of 3230 meters and is 60 kms west of Kargil. The Drass valley starts marks its begining from the base of the Zojila pass and is a small township. The winters are hard in Leh. The temperatures can go well below freezing all the time and even upto 50 degree below freezing making it the coldest
place on India. In the winter season due to the heavy snowfall and high intense cold Drass town is cut off from the rest of the world.

The official language of this place is Urdu. The inhabitants of Drass are known as the guardians of the gateway of Ladakh. Drass can be well enjoyed during the four months of spring and summer.

01.Tiger Hill [See Map]
Tiger Hill is a part of the Himalayan Ranges. It is a Strategic as well as touristic important area. The Tiger Hill is one of the highest point in the region with over an altitude of 5353 meters. Tiger Hill is also an important attraction in the region. It is easily noticeable as well as a beautiful view. Tiger Hill also witnessed many Strategic actions after the formation of India and Pakistan.

02.Dongchik 
Dongchik is a noticeable village near Drass. It is at a distance of 10 km from Drass. The peculiarity of Dongchik is that there is no cases filed as per police records. In terms of agriculture, education and peace it is a model village.

03.Drass War Memorial [See Map]
Drass War Memorial is an other important tourist attraction in Drass. This was build up to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives  during the Indo – Pak war. The memorial maintains lots of photographs of the blood battle. Also Brigade War Gallery which is at a distance of 3 kms fom Drass is an attraction, which provides all the information about the 1991 Indo – Pak war.
