Naimishranya or Namisaranyam also known as Neemsar/Nimsar or Nimkhar. This temple is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva located in district Sitapur of Uttar Pradesh on the left bank of Gomti River. It is one of the Divya Desams: the 10 temples of Vishu, honored in Nalayira Divya Prabandham by 12 poets of Alwar. The temple is counted as one of the eight temples of Lord Vishu that are self-manifested and known as Swayamvyaktha Kshetra.

The best time to visit Naimisharanya is in winters: between October to March. This place is religious site, so, the town sees immense amount of crowd during festivals especially MahaShivratri and Holi.

By Road
It stands on Sidhauli-Naimisharanya state highway. The highway is well connected to National Highway number 24. The highway is called Delhi-Lucknow highway. There are plenty of buses from Lucknow, Sitapur, Delhi and Hardoi.
By Rail
The nearest major serving railway station is Lucknow at approx 100kms from the main city area. The railway line connects to the major cities of India like Delhi, Lucknow, Agra, Jhansi, Indore, Bhopal and many more. Another railway station is Sitapur Cantt, at approx 40kms from the town. The station connects Gorakhpur, Ambala, Delhi and Kota.
