Pilibhit Tourism

Pilibhit is a district in Bareilly division, Uttar Pradesh and Philibit city is an administrative headquarters of the district. . At present the town is located on the left bank of Khakra River and its history can be traced in Mahabharata. Philibit city is famous all over the world for production of flutes and probably only place in the whole country where flutes are made. The best time to visit Philibit is between Mid-Junes to Mid-November.

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve came into existence in June 2014, situated in Philibit district and Shahjahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh. According to 2018 Census, Reserve has almost 65 tigers and good prey base that is the major concern of UP government. 

Chuka Beach

Chuka Beach is prominent tourist attraction located between Sharda Sagar Dam and Sharda Canal. The area has wide variety of fauna like wild hare, flamingoes, duck and monkeys. The FOMO here is sunrise & sunset that adds to the beauty of the beach.

How To Reach

By Road

There are plenty of buses run by Uttar Pradesh Road Transportation Corporation from Bareilly, Rampur, Lucknow, Sitapur and Moradabad. The minimum bus fair is Rs. 200. 

By Rail

The district junction is called Philibit Junction at 2.5kms from the city area. There are 35 trains that halt here in a week. The most frequent train coming to the junction is from Lucknow and its minimum price is Rs. 400. 

The nearest major serving railway station is Bareilly station at 50kms. This railway network provides trains to Lucknow, Agra, New Delhi, Jabalpur and Ujjain.  A tourist travelling within the state of Uttar Pradesh mostly prefers railways for commuting. 

By Air

The nearest airport to Pilibhit is Pantanagar at 50kms. There are no regular flights to Philibit.
