Vagamon

Vagamon is one of the beautiful hillstation located in idukki district of kerala.Vagamon is above 1098 metres above the sea level. Vagamon is an ideal place with cool climate with 10 degree to 22 degree celcius temeperature during summer. Vagamon has its beauty because of the valleys, beautiful greeneries, meadows, pine forests, mist, tea estates and waterfalls. Vagamon also is a place where you can find wide variety of flora and fauna. Vagamon is suitable for paragliding, rock climbing and mountaineering. Vagamon is nearly 30 kms from moolamattom and 30 kms from kuttikanam which are known for its scenic beauty and climate. There are decent accomodations available in Vagamon,several foriegners are deeply attached by the beauty of Vagamon. Reaching vagamon itself is an experience because the road to Vagamon is covered with mist and it is such a beautiful experience to get there.

There are several points of attraction for foriegners. Some of them are:

Indo-Swiss Project Diary Farm: It is situated in kurishumala. It is a very successful project accompanied by collaboration between India and Switzerland. Several variety techniques about cattle breeding and development is been practiced here. It is one of the largest dairy farms in Kerala.
Vagamon Meadows: The most beautiful place to accompany with loving ones. It is the rolling hills of Vagamon. The cold breeze will provide with such a wonderful experience,its the main center of attraction for Vagamon. There is a lake in between the Meadows which make her more beautiful.

Pine Forest: Pine forests is always filled with people because you cannot experience the fun anywhere you will get here. Straight rows of pine trees provide a feeling of leisure and it is the best place to spend time with family and friends. It offers an amazing view.

Thangal para: It is a Muslim pilgrimage.You need to walk for about 1.5 kms to reach top of the Thangal para.You will be taken away by the wind which will be flowing at about 15kms per hour. There is also a suicide point located at the end of thi view place.
