Trivandum also known as Thiruvananthapuram is the capital of Kerala, India. It is the largest city with highest population in Kerala.There are a number of tourist locations in Trivandrum which attracts the foriegners in flocks. Sri Padmanabha Temple:This is a Dravidian style architectured Temple. It is the richest Hindu temple in the world.The posture of lord vishnu is  Anantha Sayanam which symbolizes the eternal sleep of yoga nidra. Beaches:

Kovalam Beach: It is an internationally renowned beach which is only 15 kms away from Trivandrum. This is a major tourist attraction which can be claimed as one of the best beaches in the world. The look provided to the beach by the coconut grove makes it rather more beautiful. Large number of resorts are there in Koavalam. Shankumugham Beach: This beach is very near to Trivandrum International Airport.The long stech of white sand make the beach special with car parking facilities and open theatre.It gives the best ingredient for relaxation and leisure.The sculpture of Mermaid by Kanayi Kunjiraman is also an attraction for foriegners.Hotels providing variety of Fish dishes offer a delighted feeling to tourists.


Veli beach/Lagoon and Tourist Village: In the side of the veli lake,lies the veli beach.it is just 1 km from Sankhumugam beach.This lagoon is seperated by the Arabian sea.There are several facilities for fishing,Boating and swimming in Veli.The main attraction to the tourists are the floating restaurent and a beautiful park by which the restaurent is surrounded.

Akkulam: Picnic and backwater destination is the main attractions in this place which is a neighbourhood of Trinadrum.Music foundains,childrens park with unique rides and swimming pool equipped with gliding facilites are provided in here. Napier Museum: is 5 km away from Trivandrum. This museum holds a rare collection of ancient ornaments, bronze materials, idols, a temple chariot and many other archeological artifacts. The museum also contains Sri Chitra Art Gallery where paintings of Raja Ravi Varma are exhibited. Paintings of Rajput, Mughal together with arts from China, Tibet and Japan are also exhibited here. Museum of Science And Technology: It is an autonomous organisation established in 1984 for communicating the scientific aspects and also provides platform for young generation to exhibit their scientific skills.It is a major tourist attraction by its scientific, technological and electronic capabilities. Natural history Museum: In here,you can find collection of animal skeltons,stuffed birds and animals,ethnographic pieces and a replica of traditional wooden kerala house.

Priyadarshini Planetarium: It is one of the most versatile planetariums in India.Priyadarshini planetarium is situated inside Kerala Science and Technology Museum compound.The main features of planetarium includes sound studio,A well eqiped sky theatre and conference hall.The planetarium is made with international standards and has a seating capacity of 185 people.
 Timings of the Planetarium shows: Malayalam: 10:30 am, 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm English: 12 Noon.

Folklore Museum: Folklore museum of Trivandrum exhibits musical instruments which are very rare and also models of folk art,household utensils and many other equipments which preserve the cultural background of Kerala.

Kanakakunnu palace: Many of the cultural events and programmes ar now a days hosted in here.The palace stands on a hill and it is surrounded by well cared loans.The main venues for the programms hosted here are Nishagandhi auditorium and Sooryakanthi Auditorium.The palace is just 1 km away from Napier Museum.

Padmanabhapuram Palace:This palace is located on the way from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari.It is 65 kms away from Trivandrum. This majestic palace is known for its wall ceilings,murals, underground passages,mica windows and shiny floots which are build using egg white,jaggery, river sand and charcoal.Near to the palace lies the Archeological Museum where the royal stable,guard rooms,carvings,manuscrips are preserved and is a very important place that once should never miss.
