How to reach
The nearest airport from Mawsynram is Umroi airport in Shillong but it is not well connected to all the places in India.
Although Guwahati airport is the most common place used for almost all tourists of Meghalaya. It is located at a distance of 174km and takes about 5 hours to reach there via Shillong. You can easily hire a taxi or a cab to reach Mawsynram.
The nearest railway station is also in Guwahati at a distance of about 150km.Local transports and cab facilities are easily available from the station
You can also take bus service from Paltan bazar of Guwahati to reach the place. The road from Guwahati to Mawsynram is very soothing and full of surprises.
Best season to visit Mawsynram
September to November is the best time to visit the place as the rainfall is less and you will be able to enjoy every part of the place.

Located in the east Khasi hills of Meghalaya at an elevation of 1400feet above sea level.The village is well known for its Shivling structure and the rich tradition and culture of the villagers.The popular sites in Mawsynram are Mawjinbuin caves,Krem puri caves, Krem dam,Lum symper and Wah umngi.There are camping facilities in many areas and the homestays in the place are very welcoming and warm.
