How to reach

The nearest airport from Cherrapunji is Umroi airport in Shillong but due to unavoidable circumstances this airport remains closed sometimes and also it is not connected will all the cities. Guwahati airport which is located at a distance of 181 km from Cherrapunji is the best way to reach there. You can hire a taxi or a cab to reach Cherrapunji via Shillong.

The nearest railway station is also Guwahati railway station which is connected to almost all the parts of India and it is just 144km from the place. Local transport, cabs, taxis are easily available from the station

You can also take bus services from the Guwahati bus stand located in Paltan Bazar in Guwahati.

Best season to visit

Although there is rain throughout the year October to February is the best time to visit Cherrapunji for a favorable climate and to enjoy every tourist spot in Cherrapunji.
