Chennai has tropical dry & humid climate and hence termed as “hottest city.” The place lies on the coastal areas and hence variation in average temperature can’t be seen that much. How To Go?
By Road
There are 4 NH that connects Chennai with Madanapalle (NH 205), Theni (NH 45), Mumbai (NH 4), and Kolkata (NH 6) via different cities like Bangalore, Pune, VIshakapatnam, Tirupati, Bhubaneswar and more through Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC). The Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT) is the main stand from where majority of the bus operates. The local transport includes vans, Maxi cabs, autos etc.
By Rail
There are 2 main railway station that operates in the city; Chennai Central and Chennai Egmore. The Chennai Egmore provides access with the state and Chennai Central connects with the nation. There is availability of regular trains from Bangalore, New Delhi, and Mumbai to Chennai Central. The ticket price per head ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 3180.
Metro Rail
With increase in the urbanization and population, there is a need of rapid transport on daily basis to move from one place to another. Therefore, in 2015 Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) came into existence that covers Koyambedu (Chennai Central) to Alandur on Green line and Washermanpet to Chennai Airport on Blue Line.

The Chennai International Airport is the fourth busiest airport in India. It has regular connectivity to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and more.
