Bhuteshwar Shivalinga Tourism

Bhooteshwarnath or Bhuteshwar temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva sited near Maroda village in the middle of forests Gariaband district. It is been said that the height of Shivling increases every year. Bhuteshwar Shivalinga is world’s biggest natural shiva Lingam called Bhuteshwar Mahadev  Bhakurra. The major chaos of devotes or tourists is seen during the Hindu festivals of Maha Shivratri and Mondays of Shravan. In the Indian state of Chhattisgarh ‘Dwadas Jyotirling’ is recognized as ‘Ardhanarishwar Shivling’. 

When To Visit

Since the place is less than 100kms from the capital city of the state –Raipur, its climate is somewhat affected by it i.e. Humid Subtropical. It means, the summers are extensive and intense, monsoons are strong and winters are bearably cold. So, the winters are ideal time to visit the place but if you want to explore the spiritual site of the village, then you can plan a visit during summers around Maha Shivratri.

How To Reach

By Roadways

The town is located very close to Raipur, so state buses are easily accessible from Raipur to Bhooteshwar Shivalinga. You can also take private overnight buses from Ranchi, Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and more. 

By Railways

Raipur Junction is the nearest railhead to the town distanced at about 105kms. The Raipur Junction is well connected to every possible part of the country. From airport you can board on CSRTC bus or sharing cabs to your destination. 

By Airways

The closest serving airport is Raipur Airport called Swami Vivekananda International Airport located at the distance of approx 80kms. There are plenty of flights available to Raipur from anywhere in India. Once you get off the airport, you can take a state bus, private cab or sharing taxis to your desired destination.
