How to reach

The nearest airport available in Shillong is Umroi airport but due to poor connection to other parts of India, Guwahati international airport located about 200km is the most preferred airport to reach Jaintia hills. You can hire a cab or taxi to reach Jaintia hills.

The nearest railway station is in Guwahati which is about 182 km from the east Jaintia hills.

Besides that, you can take a bus ride from Guwahati and Shillong to reach the place by National Highway 44. The roads are beautiful and serve you the best road trip ever!

You can also reserve a private car before and make a package to cover the rest of the places of Meghalaya along with Jaintia hills.

Best season to reach Jaintia hills

March to June is the best season to visit the place for a comfortable and favorable climate for sightseeing and relaxing.
