The Beauty Of Shillong

Popularly known as the Scotland of the East, Shillong is the best place to roam in northeast India if you are looking for some adventure and fun. How to reach

The nearest airport from the city is Umroi airport near Barapani which is just 25kms away from Shillong. You can also land at Guwahati airport which is about 125kms away from the city and hire a private car or a taxi to reach Shillong.

The nearest railway station from Shillong is Guwahati railway station. It takes 3 hours to reach Shillong from there.

There is a bus service from Guwahati and other major cities of the northeast to Shillong. However, you can always take a road trip to Shillong enjoying the curvy roads with hills and mountains on both sides.

Best season to visit

Although the climate is pleasant throughout the year the months from October to June will be the best months to visit Shillong.
