Exporing Uttar Pradesh – Hastinapur

Hastinapur is situated on the right bank of River Ganges in Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh. The place has significance mention in Hindus and Jain texts. The name Hastinapur means “City of Elephnats”. The city is named after his king Hasti and also birth place of Queen Gandhari. Street food in Hastinapur is delicious and majority of food stalls serves jain food. 

When To Visit

The best to visit Hastinapur is in winters, between the months of December and early March. In summers, the city is very warm and monsoon receives a great amount of rainfall.

By Road

Hastinapur is well connected to Northern part of India by road. There are very frequent buses to Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Haridwar and Bulandashar.

By Rail

The nearest railway station to the city is Meerut Cantt at 42kms. The distance between the city and the railway station is about an hour which can easily cover by private taxi, auto or bus. 

By Airway

Delhi airport: Indira Gandhi International Airport is nearest to the city about 120kms. You can board on state buses, private taxis and autos to reach to the main city area.
