Vindhyachal Tourists Guide

Vindhyancahl is a city in Mirzapur district of Indian State of Uttar Pradesh, situated on the bank of river Ganga and the city is a Shakti Peeth.  This place is a Pilgrimage Site for Hindus and Vaishnavs; thousands of devotees visit this place during Chaitra Navratri. One of the important temple of the town is’ Vindhyavasini’ Temple, who according to Markandeya Purana had killed the devil ‘Mahishasura’. There are other several temples in the vicinity of Vindhyavasini temple; the most famous trio is Maa Vindhyavasini Devi temple, Kali Khok Temple and Asthabhuja Temple. The trio is popularly known as Trikona Parikrama. 

When To Visit

The Vindhyanchal climate is subtropical type. The summers and long and dry, the ideal time is considered in between October to March. But majority of the people visit the town during Chaitra Navratri to pray to the goddess Durga, Saraswati, Kali and take a holy bath in the river Ganga.

How To Visit

Road

The most convenient way to reach the town is by NH 2 or popularly known as Delhi-Kolkata Road.  The town is well connected to nearby cities of Uttar Pradesh. State and private own buses run to and fro to Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi and Kanpur etc.

Railways

Vindhyanchal railway station and Mirzapur Junction are the two prime railway networks that connect the town with New Delhi, Cochin, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Mumbai, Kolkata and Allahabad. 

Airways

The nearest airport to the metropolitan is Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi at 70kms. The second nearest airport is Bamrauli Airport in Allahabad at 105kms approx. The airport connects major cities of India like Mumbai, New Delhi and Bangalore.
